Kappel Kerstien. Coffee Table. December 05th , 2017.
An end table is intended to make it easy for people sitting in an armchair to reach their drinks, nibbles or books and newspapers without having to bend down over the side of their chair to do so. The same with a coffee table - it should be set at a comfortable height. Your first priority should therefore be the dimensions of your coffee and end tables.
Coffee tables come in such a wide variety of styles that it may be hard to choose just one for your living room or family room. A good rule of thumb is to match it with the rest of your room‘s decor. Is your room more streamlined, where bold colors and hard lines rule? Then choose a sleek and boldly colored coffee table to complete the look. If is your room softer in hues and filled with natural materials, such boldness in style and color will not do. Instead, look to a simple, lightly colored wooden coffee table to match your decor.
One piece of furniture that often doesn‘t get much attention is the coffee table. Although this piece of furniture can add functionality and style to your room, sometimes it seems like more of an afterthought instead of part of a cohesive plan. It‘s the little things that make a room complete, though, so now might be a good time to take a good look at your coffee table. If it needs replaced, you‘ll be surprised how many options you have to choose from.
Matching the Room Decor: Coffee tables and end tables should punctuate your general room decor and not strictly clash with it. However, should you have reason to prefer them not to match then there is no strict rule about this. Nevertheless, your room decoration will look more harmonious if your occasional tables match with your general living room furniture.
